Renault's Flins Factory Transforms into Street Art Hub and Future Museum

exhibition · 2026-09-10

Since June 2025, the former Renault plant in Flins, Yvelines, has been repurposed into Art Factory, hosting six street artists each year. This 3,200 m² painting studio will be integrated into a Renault museum set to open in late 2027, combining collections of art and automobiles. Originally inaugurated in 1954, the facility ceased car production in 2024 and now emphasizes recycling with a workforce of 2,000. Renault's involvement in the arts dates back to 1934 with Robert Doisneau and the establishment of the Recherches, Art et Industrie department in 1967. The Fonds Renault pour l'art et la culture was created in June 2024, featuring 350 artworks. Notable current artists include Gérard Zlotykamien, Seth, Popay, Georges Rousse, and Mono González, with OX being the first resident artist in November 2025.
