Rémi Marcel Wins 2026 Prix Rubis Mécénat, Unveils Monumental Installation at Saint-Eustache

exhibition · 2026-10-16

Rémi Marcel, a 2002-born artist, received the 2026 Prix Rubis Mécénat, which is hosted by the Rubis Mécénat fund in collaboration with École des Beaux-Arts de Paris. His artwork, titled "Le ventre de Paris," is showcased at Église Saint-Eustache in Paris from October 6 to November 29. The installation includes two sculptures resembling columns—one crafted from ceramic and the other a plaster cast—set in a soil bed where ancient wheat varieties are cultivated. At the opening, attendees participated in sowing seeds, with daily watering of the wheat. Marcel, who previously worked as a pastry chef, learned under Tatiana Trouvé and Laurent Esquerré, collaborating with curator Oulimata Gueye on this project. The award, initiated in 2021, aims to assist emerging artists, with past winners including Dhewadi Hadjab and Hélène Janicot.
