RDAI and Creative Matters Unveil Zoometry Rug Collection at Mouvements Modernes in Paris

exhibition · 2026-08-27

Denis Montel and Julia Capp's RDAI has teamed up with Creative Matters, a Canadian rug manufacturer, to unveil Zoometry, a series of six exquisite rugs showcased at Galerie Mouvements Modernes in Paris until 23 September 2026. These rugs, crafted from Tibetan wool and Chinese silk, emulate the microscopic forms of minuscule organisms. Interior architect Johan Thuillot utilized Grasshopper software to design the patterns, working alongside textile artists Anna Panosyan and Clémence Hardelay to develop the color schemes. The end products, referred to as 'couture', boast stunning color gradients and effects reminiscent of butterfly wings. Each rug weighs 35kg and features a remarkable density of 1.8 million knots, created by artisans skilled in a unique Tibetan knot technique.
