RCAB Studio's Courtyard House in Jakarta Merges Steel and Nature

architecture-design · 2026-07-06

RCAB Studio has completed a 991-square-meter residence on a 407-square-meter corner lot in West Jakarta, Indonesia, directly facing a public park. Designed for a client with a background in the steel industry, the house prominently features exposed steel elements balanced with timber and landscape. The design prioritizes natural light, cross ventilation, and a strong connection to the surrounding greenery, treating the park as an extension of the living space. Lead architects Martinus Andika and Ricky Cahyadi led the project, with design team member Rendy Reynaldi. The house was completed in 2024 and photographed by Ernest Theofilus. The project was curated by Miwa Negoro.
