Raw Mango Founder Sanjay Garg on Handlooms, Saris, and India's Fashion Identity

So, there’s this cool womenswear brand called Raw Mango from New Delhi, started by Sanjay Garg, who's a textile designer. They've teamed up with Adil Kalyanpur, also known as A-KAL, who’s a tennis player and rapper, to drop a song on Instagram that celebrates handloom artistry. Raw Mango is all about blending traditional weaving techniques with a modern vibe. Sanjay grew up in Mubarikpur, Rajasthan, and his childhood memories of his grandmother's saris and brocades really influenced his design style. He kicked off Raw Mango in 2008 after studying at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi. They also explore interiors and music, and their new collection, 'It's Not About the Flower,’ is launching in September, focusing on garlands in South Asian culture.
