Ramp Stages 'Bill Pay the Musical' on Broadway, Blending Fintech Pitch with Industrial Musical Revival
On a Friday evening, Ramp, a fintech firm based in New York, showcased Bill Pay the Musical at the Broadhurst Theatre, featuring a lineup of stars such as Billy Porter, Billy Zane, and Jessica Vosk. Eric Glyman, a co-founder, remarked, "A.I. is for finance. It is not for fine art." This exclusive yet complimentary event, heavily branded, aimed to promote Ramp's automated bill payment solutions. The show, which was hinted at through theater trade announcements and influencer collaborations, followed Lisa Blupey, a small-business owner in "Billicon Valley." It included references to pop culture and a surprise appearance by Brian Baumgartner. The gathering drew influencers and an industrial musicals professor, with Glyman encouraging the audience to utilize Ramp's A.I. capabilities. Ramp, founded by Glyman and Karim Atiyeh, reported $1 billion in revenue last year.
