Rammellzee Retrospective Trilogy Concludes at Museion Bolzano in 2026

Museion Bolzano will host TIME:LINE, the final chapter of a European retrospective trilogy dedicated to the late American artist Rammellzee (1960–2010), opening October 17, 2026 and running through March 14, 2027. The trilogy began at Palais de Tokyo in Paris and continued at CAPC Musée d'art contemporain de Bordeaux. Rammellzee, born in Far Rockaway, New York, was a graffiti artist, musician, and philosopher known for his Gothic Futurism and Iconoclastic Panzerism. He fled New York in the early 1980s after the police killing of a young hip-hop artist, finding refuge in Martina Franca, Puglia, hosted by Galleria Studio Carrieri Noesi. His work combines sociology, philosophy, music (notably the 1983 track Beat Bop with Jean-Michel Basquiat), and performance, using graffiti as militant resistance. The exhibition will feature his iconic Garbage Gods costumes and works from collections including Yaki Kornblit, Michaël Benabou, Speerstra, David Fouks, Johnny Grizot, and Ziegler.
