Rajiv Saini designs serene 60th-floor Mumbai apartment with ocean views

architecture-design · 2026-07-06

A 60th-floor apartment in Mumbai's Worli district has been transformed into a calm oasis by designer Rajiv Saini and his firm. The 5,500 sq ft unit, originally a four-bedroom layout, was reconfigured into a three-bedroom home with a family room, office, and flowing living-dining-kitchen area. A glass wall divides spaces without blocking the sea view. The client, a California-based financier who visits Mumbai several times a year, requested a timeless, serene space as a respite from urban chaos. The apartment occupies the 360 West by Oberoi tower, just behind Worli Sea Face. Saini converted the layout to prioritize the ocean view and open-plan entertaining. The material palette uses cool cream tones with warm brown furnishings and textiles, with contemporary art pieces adding dynamism. A large terrace off the living room extends socializing outdoors. Saini had previously designed the twin NJM & PVM coastal apartments in the same area.
