Radiohead Covers on Ottoman Instruments by Hasan Ceylan

Multi-instrumentalist Hasan Ceylan, a Musicology graduate from Ankara State Conservatory, has released three Radiohead covers using traditional Turkish instruments from the Ottoman era. The songs are "No Surprises" and "Exit Music (for a Film)" from the 1997 album OK Computer, and "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" from 1995's The Bends. Ceylan replaced Radiohead's guitars and synthesizers with a rebap (bowed string instrument), a lavta (lute from Istanbul), a baglama (long-necked lute), and a zilli tef (tambourine). The instrumental covers are posted on his Instagram. Ceylan has also covered Rammstein, Deep Purple, and Gustavo Santaolalla's music for The Last of Us, imagining the game's soundtrack in an Ottoman setting.
