Rachel Scott and Raul Lopez Discuss Architecture's Influence on Fashion at NEW INC

During a discussion with CULTURED's Architecture Editor Karen Wong at NEW INC, designers Rachel Scott and Raul Lopez explored the impact of architecture on their fashion work. Scott, who is the founder of Diotima and the creative director at Proenza Schouler, along with Lopez, the founder of Luar, met prior to fashion week to delve into their dislike for sketching and their relationship with space. Scott combines refined tailoring with Jamaican crochet, while Lopez's Luar showcases sculptural forms. Growing up around construction sites influenced Lopez, while Scott's father was a furniture designer. They shared insights on their creative journeys, with Lopez expressing boredom during collections and Scott wishing her collaboration with the Wifredo Lam Estate could continue.
