London-based jewellery designer Rachel Boston has launched 'Relic', a collection of ten engagement and statement rings for men, crafted in 18ct gold or platinum. The collection, which draws on ancient Roman signet rings, features modern-cut white diamonds set in sculptural bands. Boston, known for her sculptural sensibility, previously created wedding bands and bespoke pieces for men but felt the time was right for a dedicated men's collection. The rings incorporate design signatures such as a knife-edge setting, and the historical Roman setting technique outlines the stones in an architectural profile. Boston emphasizes the contrast between weight and lightness, ancient and modern, aiming for pieces that feel substantial and masculine, with interest derived from proportion and form.
