QYO Design Studio's Prism 0000 Uses Color Fields Instead of Walls in Istanbul Apartment

architecture-design · 2026-06-11

QYO Design Studio has finalized Prism 0000, an apartment in Istanbul where spaces are delineated by expansive color zones rather than traditional walls. The living room is enveloped in a vibrant lime green, while the entrance and kitchen feature a dusty rose hue. The bedroom is drenched in a rich pink, and the bathroom showcases deep burgundy terrazzo. Each hue envelops walls, ceilings, floors, and moldings, resulting in what the studio describes as 'a seamless environment where surface, material, and color unify.' Utilizing a two-field color scheme, lime green and dusty rose serve as the main contrasts. A geometric steel chandelier hangs from the acid green ceiling in the living area, complemented by a black leather sectional and a striped rug. The kitchen boasts unique yellow-pink handmade tiles, and lime yellow cabinet hardware echoes the living room’s palette. Dark bronze mirror panels in the entrance enhance spatial depth. In the bedroom, a black platform bed is the sole grounded piece, while a mounted textile adds a figurative touch. The bathroom features black fixtures that contrast with the terrazzo grid, prompting reflection on the viability of a home defined solely by color over time.
