exhibition · 2026-10-05

Quilla Constance, a British-Jamaican artist known as QC, will showcase 'Activating Intersections' at New Art Exchange in Nottingham from 10 October 2026 to 16 January 2027. This exhibition is hailed as her most ambitious yet, merging painting, performance, and radical play to challenge concepts of identity and power. It features large-scale paintings, performances, costumes, and videos, influenced by anarcho-punk feminism and absurdist humor, to critique the societal and institutional frameworks shaping identity. Central to the exhibition are new monumental oil paintings that reinterpret the colonial aesthetics of British stately homes. The event will culminate on 16 January 2027, when the public engages with the works, turning Nottingham into a dynamic site of cultural dialogue.
