Qingdeng Village Art Museum by atelier anonymous to Revive Rural Public Life

The Qingdeng Village Art Museum, designed by atelier anonymous, is a 1200 m² project slated for completion in 2026. Curated by Han Shuang, the museum aims to transform an administrative building into a vibrant cultural space, addressing the decline of informal gathering spots in Jiangnan's countryside. The design team includes Haiyun Bao, Geng Wang, Ao Tang, and Jiawei Yu, with photographs by Runzi Zhu. The project's concept stems from the observation that while traditional communal areas like banyan tree shade and ancestral halls are fading, many administrative buildings sit vacant after consolidation. The architects propose repurposing such spaces to foster new forms of public life, effectively turning an administrative void into a contemporary village entrance.
