Puskás Aréna by KÖZTI Architects Wins Stadium of the Year 2019

In 2019, the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, crafted by KÖZTI Architects, received the title of 'Stadium of the Year' from Stadium Database. Spanning 208,000 m², this multifunctional facility stands as the largest and most advanced in Central Europe. Its geometric center is precisely aligned with the site of the former Népstadion (People's Stadium, constructed between 1948 and 1953), honoring the legacy of the historic venue that was demolished. Architect György Skardelli led the project, supported by a design team that included András Borbély, László Csízy, and others. Civil engineering was executed by BIM Design, while INTERIOR ONE handled interior design, and S73 Ltd. managed landscaping. György Palkó captured the arena's essence through photography.
