PUR+ Architekten Transform 18th-Century Eifel Farmhouse into Contemporary Home

PUR+ Architekten has completed Casa Südeifel, a 350 m² residential conversion in Beilingen, Germany, in the southern Eifel region. The project, scheduled for 2026, reworks a listed 18th-century farmstead into a contemporary home and retreat. The complex belongs to the traditional Einhaus typology, which places a residential volume dating from around 1700 and an adjacent barn under a single roof. The design concept centered on restoring the architectural clarity of the historic structure while developing a modern, flexible living environment tied to its rural surroundings. The leadership team comprises Christopher Frechen and Julie Lorang, with Christopher Frechen, Katharina Mentler and Stefan Mohnen as principal architects. Photography was provided by Dominic Kummer and PUR+ Architekten. The project falls under the categories of residential architecture, houses and conversion. The work was curated by Nina Vuga and submitted by the project team.
