Pulvera and Cooloo unveil spray-on textile waste coatings at Milan Design Week 2026

At Baolab's exhibition during Milan Design Week 2026, Pulvera and Cooloo unveiled a groundbreaking spray-on surface material made from pulverized textile waste. Pulvera, an Italian startup located in Renate within the Brianza design district, converts textile remnants into powder, while the Dutch firm Cooloo utilizes its Endless Life® technology to produce spray coatings using waste powders and bio-based binders. Their partnership merges Pulvera's textile powder with Cooloo's coating system, achieving surfaces that maintain the appearance and feel of materials like denim. Eleonora Casati, co-founder of Pulvera, highlighted that this collaboration illustrates how sustainability can be appealing by transforming waste into visually striking applications. The European textile sector discards millions of tonnes of production waste each year, but this initiative reimagines waste as a valuable resource rather than a disposal issue. Cooloo's coatings are waterproof, non-toxic, solvent-free, and can be reapplied, enabling surfaces to be refreshed over time. This project challenges traditional sustainable materials that often hide a material's origins, instead honoring the visibility of waste in its new incarnation. It introduces a fresh reuse model where the conclusion of one product signifies the inception of another, with significant potential for expansion throughout Italy and beyond.
