PROYECTOR 2026: Video Art Festival Expands Across 20+ Madrid Venues
The 19th PROYECTOR Festival is set to take place in Madrid from September 9 to 20, 2026, showcasing nearly 100 pieces by artists hailing from 30 different nations across more than 20 locations. Emphasizing experimental audiovisual art, the festival will offer free public events and some content available for streaming. This year’s lineup strives for gender balance, featuring around half of the works created by women. Curatorial themes include Comisariado PROYECTOR and Recorrido OFF, with a total prize pool of €20,000 for the Hertzog Da Silva Awards. Venues such as Museo Reina Sofía will participate, and the festival will encompass live performances, video games, and workshops that explore topics like geopolitics and feminist issues, while also supporting creators under 25 through VERTICAL<25.
