Production Designer Amy Williams Recreates Jens Quistgaard's Beckoning Path for Anne Hathaway Thriller Verity

architecture-design · 2026-10-01

In the thriller Verity, based on Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel, production designer Amy Williams reimagined the midcentury residence Beckoning Path in Armonk, New York, as the setting for Anne Hathaway's character, a bedridden novelist. The 1960s home, crafted by Jens Quistgaard, showcases a pink office influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright. Custom interiors were created on soundstages, featuring a bespoke sofa and a vintage 1970s Mezzaluna desk. Dining seating includes 1980s pieces by Søren Nissen & Ebbe Gehl alongside 1860s French convent chairs. Notable lighting elements comprise a C. Jeré floor lamp and a Fortuny pendant. Director Michael Showalter inspired a unique bite-marked edible balsa-wood headboard for scenes with Hathaway and Dakota Johnson.
