Pride Month 2026: Global Exhibitions Explore Queer Art and Identity

In celebration of Pride Month 2026, a variety of exhibitions showcasing queer art and identity are set to open. 'Sensual / Mutual' by Del La Grace Volcano at Auto Italia in London will debut on 17 July, featuring previously unseen pieces from the 1970s and 1980s, including photographs of Scott's P.I.T., a lesbian bar in San Francisco. Meanwhile, the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool is hosting 'Gender Stories' until 31 August, featuring artists like Catherine Opie, Grayson Perry, and Zanele Muholi. The Palm Springs Museum of Art's 'A Queer Arcana: Art, Magic, and Spirit' runs until 18 October, while the Swiss Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale showcases 'The Unfinished Business of Living Together' until 22 November. Lastly, the National Museum of African Art in Washington DC presents 'Here: Pride and Belonging in African Art' until 23 August, exhibiting over 60 works by various artists, including Zanele Muholi and Toyin Ojih Odutola.
