Préssec's Tune X3 Concept Puts Physical Dials Back on Headphones
Préssec Design has unveiled the Tune X3, a headphone concept that relocates sound adjustment from a companion app to knurled dials and switches mounted on the earcups. A dedicated control is marked for bass and treble, while volume and active noise cancellation each get their own physical switch. The bass and treble dial draws on the controls of stereo receivers and mixing consoles, with ridged edges and differentiated shapes that let listeners identify functions by touch. Brushed aluminum housings are paired with vivid orange textile padding on the ear cushions and headband, and construction details stay visible — small fasteners along the metal body, cylindrical fittings joining earcups to headband. The studio describes the result as evoking reel-to-reel tape recorders and vintage amplifiers. Tune X3 belongs to a fictional product family that also includes the CINE X3 camera concept, the two sharing metallic finishes and exposed hardware; Vizcom was used in the design process. The project remains a concept, with technical specifications, weight, comfort and acoustic performance still to be determined and no production plans announced.
