Powerhouse Parramatta Sets November 7 Opening with Space Exhibition

The Powerhouse Parramatta, a A$915 million project in Sydney, is set to open its doors on 7 November after 12 years of planning. Situated 20km away from the city center, the museum will welcome visitors daily from 9am to 9pm, while residents can access it around the clock. Spanning 30,000 sq. m., the facility features 30 residential units and can host 60 school children for two-night stays. CEO Lisa Havilah mentioned that 90 to 95 guests are expected to stay overnight. As the largest museum in New South Wales, it aims to promote equitable arts funding. Admission is free, but tickets are necessary for the opening exhibition, 'Task Eternal', showcasing works from NASA and James Turrell. The museum anticipates attracting two million visitors in its inaugural year, despite ongoing debates regarding overspending and the demolition of Willow Grove.
