Powerhouse Parramatta Opens November 2026 with OMA/AMO and OPEN Architecture Exhibitions

The new museum, Powerhouse Parramatta, located along the Parramatta River in Western Sydney, is set to open its doors on November 7, 2026. This 30,000-square-meter facility, designed by Moreau Kusunoki, Genton, and Arup, marks the first state cultural institution in the region. It will feature seven Presentation Spaces, cafés, retail outlets, a food history area, a rooftop observatory, an Indigenous garden, and housing for 30 researchers, alongside a learning initiative for 10,000 students. The inaugural program will showcase over 3,000 items, including 1,600 from the Powerhouse Collection and 45 new works from 14 countries. Two exhibitions, Task Eternal and The Mall, will delve into themes of human flight and retail history. Additionally, the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2026 is scheduled for September 17 to October 1.
