architecture-design · 2026-07-14

In Nairobi's Lavington neighborhood, Powerhouse Company has reimagined a brutalist villa from the 1970s into a boutique hotel named Céline & Lolo. This initiative, overseen by Nina Vuga and designed by Powerhouse Company, spans 1200 m² and is expected to be finished by 2026. The hotel will include guest accommodations, a restaurant, bars both indoors and outdoors, a terrace, a pool deck, a professional kitchen, and quarters for staff. Dreambuild Engineering Co. Ltd handled the structural engineering, while C&L Founders contributed to the furniture, styling, and landscape architecture. Lodewijk Hissink provided the artwork, creating an ambiance reminiscent of a cherished holiday home—warm, inviting, and full of personality.
