Pornhub and Tom of Finland Foundation Team Up for Paris Exhibition on Censorship

The Tom of Finland Foundation has partnered with adult video platform Pornhub for a new exhibition in Paris that examines how audiences have historically accessed censored art and erotic imagery. The show, titled "Forbidden Fruit," centers on the creative strategies people have used to circumvent restrictions on sexually explicit material. It draws on the legacy of Tom of Finland, the Finnish artist whose homoerotic drawings faced censorship and whose foundation preserves his work. By joining with Pornhub, the foundation brings a commercial adult platform into a museum-style presentation about the politics of visibility and access. The exhibition is scheduled to take place in Paris, though the source does not specify a venue or run dates. The collaboration places censorship, erotic art, and digital distribution in the same frame, positioning the adult industry as a participant in conversations normally staged by art institutions. The foundation, established to protect and promote Tom of Finland's output, has previously lent its name to exhibitions and archives devoted to queer erotic art. Pornhub's involvement signals its continued effort to align itself with cultural projects, a strategy that has drawn both attention and criticism in the art world. The Paris presentation follows a broader pattern of exhibitions that revisit historical censorship and the underground networks that sustained forbidden images.
