Polydrops P21X: Solar-Powered Off-Road Trailer Prioritizes Energy Efficiency

Polydrops has unveiled the P21X, a limited-production off-road travel trailer designed around energy reduction rather than accumulation. Since 2019, the company has focused on minimizing energy demand through insulation, lightweight construction, and aerodynamics. The P21X extends this approach to rugged terrain with a 15-inch ground clearance, reinforced chassis, and all-terrain tires, while a rear spoiler manages airflow disrupted by the elevated body. The structure uses a clear-anodized aluminum frame with no wood, and a continuous 2-inch insulation system reduces thermal bridging. A 1,300-watt solar array from Aptera Motors feeds a standard 5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery (optional 10 kWh). Inside, a queen-size bed converts to a dining/work area, and a concealed bathroom with a sponge-based shower uses about one gallon per shower. A bench and Lagun table provide a secondary workspace. Production is limited to 20 units.
