Polkadot Design Unveils Ink-Trace Visual Identity for Athens Epidaurus Festival

The Athens Epidaurus Festival, a key cultural institution in Greece and one of Europe’s oldest festivals, has unveiled a new visual identity crafted by Polkadot Design. This identity employs a manual technique where rotational movements create ink traces, transforming motion into a modern visual expression that embodies the essence of performing arts. For Polkadot Design Studio, the poster transcends being a mere static image; it serves as a call for viewers to engage actively and contribute to its ultimate interpretation. Celebrating 70 years, the festival has showcased prominent artists from Greece and around the world in theater, music, and dance. Production credits include Perrakis Papers, typografio pletsas kardari, Kapa Ekdotiki, and photographers Giorgos Vitsaropoulos, Thomas Daskalakis, and Aris Vasiliadis, with Vitsaropoulos also producing the video. The project was submitted via designboom's DIY feature and edited by Christina Vergopoulou.
