Polish Accordion Concerto Premieres in Beijing with Chinese Orchestra
A new concerto for accordion and string orchestra by Polish composer Marcin Blazewicz was performed for the first time in Beijing. The premiere featured accordionist Klaudiusz Baran, who is also rector of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, performing with the symphony orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music under conductor Yu Feng. The performance took place in November 2017 and received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
