Pocketbook Hudson Opens in Revitalized 1883 Textile Mill

architecture-design · 2026-06-16

In Hudson, New York, the newly opened Pocketbook Hudson hotel occupies a 70,000-square-foot former textile mill dating back to 1883. This ambitious project, which took six years to complete, was developed by Gabriel Katz, Sean Roland, Nancy Kim, Vipin Nambiar, and Jeremy Selman. The design, spearheaded by the architecture firm Charlap, Hyman & Herrero, marks their inaugural venture into hospitality. The hotel boasts 46 rooms, a café, the restaurant Ambos, a communal bathhouse, the nightclub Ether, and retail space. The art program, curated by artist WangShui, features commissioned works from Tschabalala Self, Maryam Hoseini, and Martine Gutierrez. At Ambos, Chef Norberto Piattoni serves Argentine cuisine. The address is 549 Washington St, Hudson, NY 12534.
