PlayLab's Big Goals: Crocheted Soccer Nets on Miami Beach

exhibition · 2026-06-18

PlayLab's Big Goals installation on Miami Beach transforms soccer goals into monumental crocheted artworks. Installed between 11th and 12th Streets, the oversized goals feature nets hand-crocheted by Argentine artists Jessica Trosman and Emiliano Miliyo, working with women artisan cooperatives in Argentina using reclaimed textile materials. The nets depict sea dragons, scorpions, starfish, and constellations. Commissioned by REEFLINE as part of its public art and conservation program, the installation coincides with Miami's preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The project runs from June 14 to 28, 2026, on Miami Beach, Florida.
