Plau Design and Greco Launch Grecotipo, a 32-Font Family Blending Craft and Digital Type

architecture-design · 2026-10-10

The Brazilian design firm Greco partnered with Plau Design, based in Rio, to develop Grecotipo, a typeface family comprising 32 fonts, spearheaded by typographers Rodrigo Saiani and Carlos Mignot. This collection offers two styles: Normal and Display, characterized by gentle curves that evoke warmth. It encompasses eight weights ranging from Thin to Black, complete with corresponding italics, providing designers with layout flexibility. The Display variant features rounded inner counters, while the Normal style adheres to a traditional grotesque framework. Both styles exhibit distinctive character traits. The physical stationery is crafted from Fedrigoni Materica Kraft paper and utilizes neon inks, while heavy canvas tote bags highlight the Black styles. Variable font sliders and video clips bridge the digital and print realms, with the project showcased on Behance.
