Platea | Palazzo Galeano in Lodi Launches Ever-Evolving Exhibition Series Fivefold Tuning

Platea | Palazzo Galeano, a 24/7 window space in Lodi, Italy, has since 2020 explored the relationship between contemporary art and public space. For the 2026/2027 season, curator Giovanna Manzotti introduces Fivefold Tuning, a new format where artworks are not replaced but layered upon previous ones, creating a continuously transforming environment. The program begins with a permanent intervention by Liliana Moro titled | senza | soluzione di continuità, running until January 27, 2027. Moro lined the window walls with mirrors to absorb the life of the square, and added a yellow vertical tube that at night releases a thin stream of water, referencing the Adda River with an almost imperceptible sound. Following Federica Balconi's earlier intervention, the second artist, Lorena Bucur, presents Resto poco, torno presto. Bucur works on the stone pillars and the internal architrave of the sliding door, transforming marginal architectural details into the structure of her work. She uses cement, a material central to her practice, imprinting photographs taken during a residency in the Lodi area. The images are fragile traces meant to erode with the material, making memory physical and subject to decay. Future interventions by Diana Lola Posani and Andrea Di Lorenzo will continue this collective score. Manzotti states that Platea becomes a relational body that reflects and welcomes, activating a continuous dialogue with the city.
