Pino Boresta's Statistical Analysis of Artissima Index Reveals Artist Representation Trends

Pino Boresta conducted an examination of the artist indices found in the catalogs for Artissima in 2014 and 2015. In 2014, Giulio Paolini was at the forefront with four galleries. The following year, Paolini was joined by Luigi Ghirri, Jannis Kounellis, and Mimmo Palladino, each represented by three galleries. Eleven artists, including Carla Accardi and Mario Airò, retained two galleries across both years. Conversely, fifteen artists, such as Irma Blank and Daniel Buren, saw a reduction to one gallery. In 2015, eleven artists, including Giovanni Anselmo and Agostino Bonalumi, acquired a second gallery, while nine newcomers, like David Adamo and Francesco Arena, debuted with two galleries. Notably, twenty-three artists with two or three galleries in 2014 were absent from the 2015 index. Boresta's study employs symbols to indicate gallery changes.
