Pierre Frey Opens First Furniture-Only Showroom in Paris; Noguchi Fountain Relocates to NOMA

The renowned French textile brand, Pierre Frey, is launching its first furniture showroom, called Galerie 14 Mail, in Paris, designed by Sandrine Sarah Faivre. This 5,382-square-foot space will feature ever-changing furniture collections from designers like Constance Guisset, Christophe Delcourt, and Christian Haas, along with items from Triode Gallery. It will also house a materials library for designers and an interactive lower level. In a separate incident, thieves executed a four-minute robbery, stealing the Treasure of Villena, which includes 66 gold artifacts from the Bronze Age, worth €1.7 million and dating to about 1000 BC. Moreover, Sotheby’s Breuer in New York will host a John Chamberlain retrospective from September 18–27. Isamu Noguchi’s Mississippi Fountain will be installed at NOMA, thanks to the Besthoff family. The Star of Hope Foundation has also listed Robert Indiana’s Vinalhaven home for $1.4 million, abandoning plans for a public museum.
