Photographic Social Vision Foundation Launches Digital Archive Platform for 20th Century Spanish Photography

The Photographic Social Vision Foundation is marking its 25th anniversary by launching a digital platform that provides free access to significant 20th century Spanish photographic archives. The platform at archivos.fundacionpsv.org features over 100,000 digitized images from collections including the Joana Biarnés Archive, with works by photographers such as Anna Turbau, Ferran Freixa, Isabel Azkarate, and Oriol Maspons. According to director Silvia Omedes, the initiative aims to make this artistic and documentary heritage accessible to researchers, students, and the general public. The foundation has also established Villa Alegre Gallery in Barcelona to complement the digital effort, with plans to participate in international fairs and organize exhibitions in 2026. Future platform enhancements will include interview videos, virtual exhibition tours, and a digital library.
