Philippe Guesdon Reinterprets Dürer Engravings at Musée de Louviers
At the Musée de Louviers, an exhibition titled Restituer showcases over thirty large-format artworks by Philippe Guesdon, which interact with original engravings by Albrecht Dürer and a fragment of a 16th-century altarpiece. This event will be held from 19 September 2026 to 3 January 2027 at Place Ernest-Thorel, 27400 Louviers, accessible from Tuesday to Saturday between 14h and 18h, as well as on the first Sunday of each month, with no admission fee. Guesdon's paintings, produced from 2019 to 2025, reinterpret Dürer's pieces in vibrant colors and larger dimensions. His series includes La Grande Passion (2020), Rehauts (2021), and Polychromie de l'autel marial (2025). Guesdon expresses, "I interpret his works without betraying Dürer," merging respect with exploration.
