Petar Nakov's 'OT' Debuts as Site-Specific Sculpture at Sarieva Gallery
The first solo exhibition of Bulgarian sculptor Petar Nakov, titled 'OT,' is currently showcased at Sarieva / Gallery in Plovdiv. This event is part of Ivaylo Avramov's curatorial series 'Breakthrough in the White Cube.' The installation, which occupies the entire gallery space (423 × 404 × 355 cm, volume 60.67 m³), features a rebar framework inspired by the Glagolitic letters 'o' and 't.' It comprises a spatial installation, a drawing, a matrix, and a de-scaled element. Avramov describes the storefront window as a 'sharp as a razor' boundary zone. Nakov, born in 1976, co-founded Depo Sculpture and graduated from the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, in 2001. Sarieva / Gallery, established in 2004 and renamed in 2021, also opened a branch in Sofia. Avramov, born in 1968, is a sculptor and holds a PhD in Art Studies.
