Perrotin New York Presents Three Solo Shows by Nikki Maloof, Aryo Toh Djojo, and Young-Il Ahn

Perrotin New York is hosting three concurrent solo exhibitions across three floors, each featuring distinct artistic approaches. Nikki Maloof's Menagerie occupies the first floor, Aryo Toh Djojo's Leap into the Void is on the second, and Young-Il Ahn: Self Reflections is on the third. All three exhibitions run from September 9th to October 17th, 2026. Maloof's paintings use vibrant, unsettling colors to depict scenes of consumption and captivity, blurring boundaries between restaurants and zoos. Toh Djojo's airbrushed works explore UFOs, abduction, and transcendence, blending contemporary image-making techniques like Photoshop and AI with spiritual themes. Ahn's exhibition features his Water series alongside works like Horse Race and Memorial to September 11, using abstraction to capture experiences of speed, rhythm, and memory. The shows are unified not by a single theme but by the viewer's need to recalibrate their attention on each floor. The exhibitions are accompanied by an essay by [author not named] that reflects on the distinct ways of looking each artist demands. Perrotin New York continues to present diverse contemporary voices in its multi-floor space.
