Perroquet Hotel: Bernard Dubois Transforms 1950s Fort Lauderdale Motel

Perroquet, a revamped motel from the 1950s, has officially opened its doors at 3081 Harbor Drive in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This 37-room establishment was transformed by hoteliers Clifford and Matthew from The Lane Organization, with the traditional U-shaped design reimagined by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois. The color scheme incorporates off-white and forest green, drawing inspiration from local country clubs and post-war motels. The courtyard showcases red brick, green canvas, and bespoke furnishings, while lush new plantings create a vibrant atmosphere around the pool. Guests can choose from nine room categories, each with unique design influences. Curators Valerio Polimeno and Whitney Lane curated an art collection featuring prominent artists. Amenities include Sferra linens, Byredo toiletries, and a self-service breakfast bar.
