Perkins&Will's Maya Tower in Brazil Blends Concrete, Vegetation, and Climate Strategies
Perkins&Will has completed Maya, a residential tower in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, that integrates architecture with the Pantanal region's climate and landscape. The 18,000 sqm project positions circulation along the western facade as a thermal buffer, while residential units face more favorable orientations with brise-soleils. Materials like exposed concrete, stone, and wood were chosen for thermal properties. Amenities include pools, lounges, and fitness spaces.
