Peninsula Arquitetura Renovates 1950s São Paulo House

Peninsula Arquitetura has completed the renovation of Casa BF2, a 1950s passage house located in the Perdizes neighborhood of São Paulo, Brazil. The project, which concluded in 2025, involved a comprehensive overhaul of the 200 m² structure, which was acquired in poor condition by a couple of entrepreneurs and grandparents who are recurring clients of the studio. The clients desired a well-lit, ventilated space suitable for hosting family gatherings. The renovation, spanning approximately one and a half years, aimed to preserve the original characteristics of the building while updating the floor plan to meet contemporary needs. The project covers a total area of 300 m², including the built area and external spaces. The design team was led by architects Eugenio Conte, Gabriel Cesar e Santos, and José Guilherme Carceles, with coordination by Bianca Flores. The project team included Amanda Moreira, Gaia Savastano, and Clarisse Mohany, with technical assistance from Flavio de Senço. The renovation was curated by Susanna Moreira. Photographs of the completed project were taken by Pedro Russo. Materials and products used in the renovation were sourced from suppliers including Boobam, Fernando Jaeger, and Lider Design.
