Payette completes net-zero timber farm stand for Land's Sake nonprofit in Massachusetts

Payette, an architecture firm located in Boston, has finished a pro-bono timber farm stand for the nonprofit Land's Sake in Weston, Massachusetts. This farm stand marks the fourth construction stemming from a master plan created by Payette in 2018 for the 40-acre property. The pavilion, built with heavy timber, maintains sightlines over the agricultural landscape and boasts a gabled metal roof equipped for a photovoltaic array, offering shade for both produce displays and seating areas. Its hybrid structure features Douglas fir and cross-laminated timber. Inside, amenities include a commercial market, a demonstration kitchen, storage, a staff office, a walk-in cooler, and a loft for educational activities.
