Paula Valdeón Explores Domestic Fiction and Architectural Ornament at Sala de Arte El Brocense

The exhibition season at the Sala de Arte El Brocense in Cáceres kicks off with "Escaleras, celosías y un pavo real," a solo presentation by Extremaduran artist Paula Valdeón Lemus, under the curation of Julio C. Vázquez. This showcase, which will be on display from September 18 to October 17, 2026, delves into how architecture and ornamentation influence the notion of home. Valdeón's creations, crafted from materials such as linen, burlap, clay, and marble dust, illustrate the transformation of intricate details into expansive visuals. The project investigates the breakdown of architectural elements and ornamentation, highlighting their effects on perception and a sense of belonging. Valdeón is a Fine Arts graduate from the University of Salamanca and has an extensive exhibition history, while Vázquez focuses on situated arts and public spaces.
