Patara Architects Completes Mahachai Residence Along the Tha Chin River in Samut Sakhon

Patara Architects has completed the Mahachai Residence, a 180-square-meter house situated on a plot beside the Tha Chin River in Samut Sakhon, Thailand, where the owner's former boat repair warehouse once stood. Completed in 2025, the project was conceived as a daytime retreat rather than a full-time home, designed to let the owner rest, observe the river, and watch it turn golden at sunset. The design subtly incorporates the site's industrial past into its structure and materials instead of erasing it. Patara Warathanasin led the team as lead architect, with interior design also handled by Patara Architects. The general contractor was Arisan Co., Ltd. Civil engineering and consulting were provided by Dechadoon Chiddee, while MEP engineering and consulting were overseen by Kraisit Prongseng. Studio Mueja supplied products and materials, and tacophoto.bkk photographed the project. Miwa Negoro curated the presentation. The residence falls under the category of houses and was submitted by the project team.
