Park in Market: Office Canopy of Architecture Transforms Hangzhou Marketplace

The 'Park in Market' project, a transformation of a conventional public building into a park-inspired marketplace, has been completed by Office Canopy of Architecture in Hangzhou, China. This 4,053 m² endeavor, commissioned by Westlake Construction Investment Group, was finalized in 2025. The design team, which included Xu Tianxin, Li Wei, and Ma Yuqian, oversaw comprehensive design, construction drawings, and management across various disciplines, including architecture, interior, and landscape design. This renovation is part of an initiative to enhance the agricultural market quality in West Lake District, serving as a cultural emblem for Hangzhou. Collaborators involved were XTRUC INSTITUTE, Zhizhi Landscape, and others. Zhongzhou Construction Engineering Group acted as the general contractor, with photography by Qingshan Wu.
