Paraíso, New London Art Fair Centered on Latin America, Launches During Frieze Week

A new art fair called Paraíso will debut in London from October 15 to 18, 2026, at Ambika P3, coinciding with Frieze London. Founded by Javier Calderón, director of Somers Gallery, the fair aims to challenge reductive narratives about Latin American art and provide a platform for its cultural, political, and aesthetic specificities. Manuela Rodríguez of The LAAC oversees communications. The inaugural edition will feature Mexico as the guest country, paying homage to conceptual artist Felipe Ehrenberg and video art pioneer Pola Weiss, whose work is presented as a counterpoint to the Frida Kahlo exhibition at Tate Modern. Paraíso includes a public program with academics and curators, and sections dedicated to design, craftsmanship, and gastronomy. The fair seeks to foster committed collecting and create a space for Latin American art on equal footing within the global market. Somers Gallery, founded by Calderón in 2015 as Chalton Gallery, has organized related projects since 2009.
