Panasonic Refreshes Four Lumix Lenses, Including Three for Micro Four Thirds

Panasonic has revealed enhancements to four Lumix lenses, comprising three for the Micro Four Thirds system and one for the full-frame L-Mount Lumix S system. The updated Micro Four Thirds offerings include the Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 II ASPH., the Lumix G 42.5mm f/1.7 ASPH. Power OIS, and the Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. Both Power OIS models now feature a new fluorine coating on their front elements and modified front ring lettering. The 25mm and 42.5mm lenses have transitioned from white to dark gray lettering, while the 12-60mm has opted for engraved letters without color to reduce reflections. Panasonic claims the fluorine coating aids in cleaning and repels dust and moisture. The Lumix S Pro 70-200mm f/4, the updated full-frame lens, also includes this coating. Despite rumors of discontinuation for Micro Four Thirds lenses, Panasonic's updates indicate ongoing support. All four lenses are anticipated to launch in mid-September, with new SKUs featuring an 'A' at the end, like the S-R70200A for the Lumix S Pro 70-200mm f/4.
