Pakui Hardware's 'Clearview' Explores AI Infrastructure at Arsenal Power Station

The exhibition 'PAKUI HARDWARE. CLEARVIEW' is on view at Arsenal Power Station Gallery in Białystok, Poland, located at 13 Elektryczna Street. Curated by Eliza Urwanowicz-Rojecka and Jakub Wróblewski, with architecture by Sigita Simona Paplauskaitė and light design by Julius Kuršys, the show examines the material infrastructure and environmental impact of AI and machine vision. The installation features fiber-optic threads forming fragile, shimmering surfaces animated by choreographed light, alongside sculptures in textile, resin, aluminum, and stainless steel, and a video sculpture depicting nature through a machinic gaze. Pakui Hardware, a Lithuanian artist duo founded in 2014 by Neringa Černiauskaitė and Ugnius Gelguda, explores the relationship between materiality, the body, and technology. They have exhibited at Zachęta National Gallery of Art, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, and MUMOK, and represented Lithuania at the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024 with Marija Teresė Rožanskaitė. Their work has appeared in international biennials including Performa, Bukhara, Istanbul, the 13th Baltic Triennial, and Biennale Gherdëina, as well as group shows at Kunsthalle Basel, MAXXI Rome, national galleries in Prague and Vilnius, CAPC Bordeaux, and BOZAR Brussels. The exhibition reflects on the hybrid landscapes created by technological expansion, blending natural, artificial, and virtual elements.
