Paggeria Arte reopens in Sassuolo with Damien Hirst's Spot Painting

After a €3 million renovation funded by Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Paggeria Arte in Sassuolo reopens as a contemporary art hub. The historic 17th-century building, part of the Ducal Palace complex, was originally designed by Bartolomeo Avanzini around 1650 as lodging for court pages and later restored by Pietro Bezzi in the 18th century. Curator Nicolas Ballario will lead the new programming, blending international artists, emerging talents, and local ceramic traditions. The reopening features Damien Hirst's Spot Painting from June 27–28, presented in an immersive installation of colorful balls. Ballario will host a talk on June 27 at 6 PM. After summer, from September 18–20 during festivalfilosofia, a double solo show pairs Julian Schnabel with emerging Italian artist Pietro Moretti.
