Padova exhibition revisits architects Mansutti and Miozzo's postwar housing legacy

A free exhibition at Palazzo del Monte in Padova, open until July 31, 2026, explores the work of architects Francesco Mansutti and Gino Miozzo in the city's postwar reconstruction. The show, titled "Padova, la città che cresce: Francesco Mansutti e Gino Miozzo," draws on archival documents from the Mart's Archivio del '900. Mansutti (1899–1969) and Miozzo (1898–1969) collaborated from the 1930s, working on private commissions, infrastructure, and public housing. Their projects for the INA-Casa plan, such as the Via Crescini and Via Forcellini complexes, illustrate a shift from infill buildings to entire neighborhoods. The exhibition highlights their integration of green spaces as social infrastructure. It is promoted by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo and Fondazione Barbara Cappochin, curated by Elena Svalduz and Stefano Zaggia, and part of the Biennale di Architettura Barbara Cappochin. A conference on social housing took place on June 5, 2026, alongside city-wide installations.
